Los Altos Country Club
Los Altos Country Club requested a complete re-roofing estimate from Platinum Roofing, additionally they wanted us to evaluate their dilapidated HVAC ducts.
Platinum performed a core check of the existing roof system membrane that revealed the roof life could be extended with maintenance rather than the more costly re-roof option. The HVAC ductwork revealed an aluminum emulsion coating, which is known to absorb ultraviolet rays, causing the cooled air to warm. We found no rust present, meaning there was a system failure at the seams.
Our plan of action included full roof maintenance, cleaning and a three-course gel and polyester application on the ductwork seams. We proposed coating the seams and ductwork with a UV reflective elastomeric coating to dramatically decrease cooling costs while extending the life of the roof.
The Los Altos Country Club Board listened to several reports from commercial roofers, but choose the Platinum Roofing proposal because:
1). Platinum was a referral from a long-term client.
2). Platinum best listened to their needs, proposed the best plan of action, and saved them a substantial amount of money in labor, materials and energy costs.
